Position Summary:
This dynamic position in Human Resources --- located in Shanghai --- will focus on managing all human resource functions in five geographic areas ---- China, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Korea. This position will be able to set up the human resources function in these countries. All HR functions such as recruiting, policy development, employee communication, compensation, benefits and training/development are included in the scope of this assignment.
Responsibilities:
Management of vendor relationships such as consultants, benefits brokers, payroll providers, recruiting agencies, labor agencies, law firms and survey firms
Management of recruiting process for select/key positions from identifying sources of candidates, screening/interviewing and extending offers.
Development of employee policies and communication material including webpages for company intranet.
Development of key metrics in areas of recruiting, turnover, etc. and reporting to management.
Management of onboarding for new hires as well as conducting exit interviews with terminating employees.
Management of service awards, tuition reimbursement and on-site wellness screening programs.
Development of networking relationships with HR people in competitor organizations in order to assess best practices.
Coordination of training/development programs for managers.
Resolution of employee relations issues and performance problems.
Coaching of managers in dealing with human resources issues.
Leadership role in identifying opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness, assessing the need for change, developing proposals on change initiatives and implementing change in the organization.
Requirements:
BA/BS in business or industrial relations.
6-7 years of human resources experience in a high tech multinational company.
Experience in HR in multiple countries in Asia.
Strong customer service orientation and excellent written/verbal skills.
Strong knowledge of local labor laws.
Ability to communicate and build trust with employees at all levels of the organization.
Strong project management and solid analytical skills.
Ability to work with no staff --- at least in the first couple of years.
Ability to work independently, act in a professional manner and handle confidential information.
Ability to use consultation and negotiation skills in dispute resolution and with management.
Abililty to take initiative, work pro-actively and be extremely resourceful and tenacious.
Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
